This picture book follows two African-American children as they learn about the natural habitats of animals, and connect each to the comfort and security of the children’s own home and family.

Travis and Rosa are in a suburban park with their mother when they see a small rabbit disappear into a hole. The kids peer into the hole as far as they can see, and then one child says, “Isn’t it scary?”  Mom assures the children that the rabbit is very comfortable and safe in its home.

About the Author

Award-winning author Margarita Del Mazo was born in Toledo, Spain. The stories that her grandmothers used to tell her turned her into a storyteller, a path she soon followed after receiving her law degree. Her books have been published in up to twelve languages. The award-winning illustrator Silivia lvarez was born in the tropical coastal city of La Ceiba, Honduras, by a Honduran father and a Spanish mother. At the age of seven she moved to Spain now living in Seville where she graduated in Fine Arts. La autora premiada Margarita del Mazo naci en Malpica de Tajo (Toledo). En su pueblo natal se alza un castillo con torres, almenas, foso y unos enormes muros que baa ese ro que le da apellido. Este lugar, lleno de pasadizos, tneles y fantasmas, guarda secretas historias que le contaban sus abuelas. Fueron las que hicieron de ella una autntica cuentista. Licenciada en Derecho, pronto vio cmo su camino se diriga hacia el mundo de los cuentos. La ilustradora premiada Silivia lvarez naci en la ciudad costera tropical de La Ceiba, Honduras, de padre hondureo y madre espaola. A los siete aos se traslad a Espaa viviendo ahora en Sevilla donde se licenci en Bellas Artes.
